SailPoint education credits:
SailPoint-based education credits are awarded for the completion of qualifying activities. Review what defines a qualifying activity below:
Identity University training courses: A candidate has completed training courses on Identity University within their certification renewal cycle. Free training and introductory courses are not accepted as qualifying activities.
Live webinars: A candidate has attended a live Identity University webinars held on Compass Community within their certification renewal cycle.
SailPoint Navigate attendance: A candidate has attended SailPoint Navigate within their certification renewal cycle.
Certification SME (subject matter expert) Program: Candidates participate in SailPoint’s certification development activities, where certified professionals provide expertise to maintain and advance SailPoint certifications.
Examples of qualifying SME contributions include:
- Participating in job task analysis (JTA) to define or update the skills, tasks, and knowledge areas required for certification exams.
- Assisting with exam maintenance by reviewing, validating, and updating existing exam content to ensure alignment with the latest product releases and best practices.
- Supporting new exam development, including item writing, reviewing, and validating exam questions.
Project Hours:
Project hours are time spent performing outcome-driven, hands-on work on SailPoint products that directly contributes to the planning, design, implementation, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, validation, or optimization of a SailPoint technical solution in a real-world environment (customer, partner, or internal).
Project hours must be tied to a SailPoint specific project or deliverable and involve active solutioning rather than general administrative or operational tasks.
Qualifying project hour activities may include (but are not limited to):
- Solution planning and design
- requirements gathering and workshops
- solution design and architecture activities
- Implementation and configuration
- implementing or configuring solutions in a customer or internal environment
- onboarding sources, configuring transforms, policies, workflows, or rules
- Development and integrations
- building or customizing integrations, connectors, scripts, or workflows
- coding, debugging, and technical development work
- Testing and validation
- creating and executing test plans
- quality assurance, UAT support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
- Deployment and delivery
- go-live planning, deployment activities, and production support tied to delivery
- Optimization and remediation
- refactoring, performance improvements, security enhancements, or major remediation efforts
- Project-specific documentation and collaboration
- creating technical documentation directly related to the project
- project-specific meetings, research, and communications that support delivery or solutioning
Activities that do not qualify as project hours:
General administrative work, non-project-related meetings or communications, ongoing operational support not tied to a defined project or deliverable
