Testing Accommodations

If you have a disability or medical condition that you believe requires an adjustment to testing conditions, please contact us by reaching out to training-help@sailpoint.com.

Do not include any supporting information with this initial contact, SailPoint will follow up with you on the necessary documentation. It can take up to 30 days to review your information before your desired testing date, so please plan accordingly.

Language

As of this writing all SailPoint product documentation and training materials are provided in English only. All SailPoint exams are also offered only in English. There are no plans to translate any SailPoint exams into other languages.

Scoring

Exam passing thresholds are set independently using statistical analysis and input from SailPoint subject matter experts and independent psychometricians. SailPoint reviews, updates, and adjusts exam questions on an ongoing basis to ensure continuing item accuracy as our products evolve. With this methodology, SailPoint discloses exam results as Pass or Fail only and does not publish exam scores or the thresholds for passing exams.

Exams may contain unscored questions and scored questions. This is standard testing practice. You will not know which questions are unscored. If your exam contains unscored questions, the total time allowed for the exam will take the added questions into account. Your exam results will reflect your performance on the scored questions only.

The exam will automatically end once you have answered enough questions correctly or incorrectly. Once you reach the threshold of correct or incorrect number of questions answered, you will automatically receive a pass or fail result.

A pass/fail exam result will be emailed to you 72 business hours after exam completion and displayed in your Identity University Exam Enrollment. If you passed the exam, a digital badge will be automatically created from your exam enrollment and added to your user profile in Identity University. You will then be authorized to use the digital badge on your business cards and other professional collateral and to download and distribute the digital badge.

SailPoint and Proctor360 regularly monitor the performance of all exams to ensure the validity of results and fairness to all test takers, which includes checking for violations of the terms and conditions of use. SailPoint therefore reserves the right to classify exam scores as indeterminate. Indeterminate results constitute neither passing nor failing and are not eligible for certification.

Candidates whose results are indeterminate will be granted the option of retaking the exam if the indeterminate result was due to, for example, unavoidable technical difficulties not caused by test taker misbehavior.

If instead the indeterminate result was due to test taker misbehavior or breach of the terms and conditions or any policies described herein, SailPoint will act as detailed later in this handbook under Consequences of Policy Violations and no retakes will be granted.

Reporting

SailPoint stores the results of all exam attempts, whether pass, fail, or indeterminate, and you agree to allow SailPoint to use that information within SailPoint. It is your responsibility to store and retain proof of your SailPoint certification or credential outside of Identity University. If you wish SailPoint to share your certification information with a 3rd party such as your employer, or a SailPoint partner or customer, you must first grant SailPoint permission to do so, for each such request. You can do so by emailing training-help@sailpoint.com.

SailPoint will validate the authenticity and status, (e.g., active or expired) of a certification or credential upon request of a SailPoint customer or partner. SailPoint will not report incomplete testing attempts or failures.

SailPoint certifications and credentials do not connote compliance with any laws or regulations and should not be presented to others for that purpose.

Retakes

If you fail an examination or are granted permission to retake after an indeterminate result, you may retake the exam. Upon registration, each enrollment will be given 1 free retake. This is valid for 364 days from your original enrollment. If you need to retake the exam again after your 1st and 2nd attempt, you will need to repurchase the exam.

We strongly recommend that you set aside time to obtain more job experience, or study further and prepare more before retaking an exam.

Recertification

Role-based certifications have a fixed duration, as specified earlier in this document. You may recertify any SailPoint Certification by taking the exam again. The new expiration date is based on the date the exam was taken, not on the expiration date of the existing certification. For example, if you have SailPoint Certified Identity Security Engineer that expires 15 March 2025, and you recertify on 8 January 2025, the new expiration date is 8 January 2027.

SailPoint will automatically email you in advance of Certification expiration. The address used will be the one associated with your Identity University account. It is your responsibility to ensure that the email address is current.

Please note that if you change employers you are still certified, and the certification expiration date is unchanged. As previously noted under Eligibility, if your new employer is not eligible to obtain access to Identity University you will not be able to take SailPoint certification exams. Hence you will be unable to recertify.
