How do I know if I have Integration Service / IQService?

Determining if the IQService is Installed

The way that you determine if you have the IQService installed is to examine the configuration of a source using any of the following connectors (documented here):

  • Active Directory
  • Azure Active Directory
  • HCL Domino (IBM Lotus Domino)
  • Microsoft SharePoint Online
  • Microsoft SharePoint Server
  • Windows Local Source

Note: Support for Microsoft Office365 has been deprecated

To confirm installation of the Integration Service / IQService, navigate to Admin > Connections > Sources and look for sources that have the connectors above. Select a source and navigate to IQ Service Settings in the left menu.

Examine the "IQService Host" and "IQService Port" fields as shown in this example. Check the Windows host with that IP address to see if it has the IQ service installed.

Determining the Installed Version

To determine the version number of the currently installed IQService, run the following command from an elevated Command Prompt inside the IQService directory on the IQService host:

iqservice.exe -v

Other Considerations

  • Active Directory
    • If for some reason you have Integration Service / IQService configured but aren't sure if you are using it or not, see if you are using the "Provisioning" or "Password Management" features of the connector. If you have certifications, and this configured, then you are also likely doing automatic revocations as well.
  • Azure Active Directory
    • Having Integration Service / IQService configured is not typical. You will only have this configured if you are running Powershell commands in addition to your Azure Active Directory provisioning.
  • HCL Domino (IBM Lotus Domino)
    • Integration Service / IQService is required for all functionality of this connector to work.
  • Microsoft SharePoint
    • If for some reason you have Integration Service / IQService configured but aren't sure if you are using it or not, see if you are using the "Provisioning" or "Password Management" features of the connector. If you have certifications, and this configured, then you are also likely doing automatic revocations as well.
