What’s News in Data Access Security – April 2024

Data Access Security continues to expand its core data governance capabilities with integrated data access certification, the ability to classify regulated and sensitive data from within customer environments, and an expanded set of cloud connectors. With these new capabilities, customers gain deeper context on critical content and improved extensibility to help lock down sensitive information as a foundational piece of their identity security program.

SailPoint Data Access Security customers can now certify access to unstructured data sources directly within the governance solution. Data Access Security provides organizations with the ability to review and certify access to sensitive, regulated, and critical data within their own environment. Data Access Certification helps organizations address regulatory compliance requirements and allow for the proper access to be provisioned to the right people at the right time.

Data Access Security Access Certifications allow identifying over-privileged access for revocation, thereby enhancing the overall security posture of organizations. Smart review processes dynamically assign reviewers based on data and identity context, leveraging SailPoint’s comprehensive visibility and the full capabilities of its platform, allowing Data Owners and key stakeholders to review, certify or correct direct and indirect data access across the enterprise.

Strengthen security posture with sensitive and regulated data classification

Customers can now leverage Data Access Security's out-of-the-box data classification policies and predefined classifications rules within their environment to automatically classify and catalog regulated sensitive data, including personal identifiable information (PII), payment card information (PCI), medical records regulated under HIPAA, and information covered under data protection laws like GDPR. Organizations can also catalog content based on internal identifiers and dynamic policies to secure intellectual property, parented information, and classified restricted content.

Gain compressive coverage of sensitive data with an expanded set of cloud connectors

To meet the needs of complex enterprises and enable comprehensive data access governance, we have expanded the set of available cloud connectors to include AWS S3, Box, Google Drive, and Microsoft Exchange Online – in addition to Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive Online.
