New Capability: Data Access Security Exchange Online Connector

We are super excited to announce the new Data Access Security Box connector is now available for Data Access Security users!

The new connector extends Data Access Security’s Crawl and Permissions Analysis capabilities to enable permissions analysis capabilities, enhanced visibility into the structure of data assets stored, and the utilization of Data Access Security capabilities to effectively govern Exchange Online application data assets.

Data Access Security is now able to crawl Exchange Online for mailbox folder structure and public folders, and analyze permissions for retrieved folders, thus helping organizations attain a comprehensive governance posture of access to all data across on-premises and cloud storage alike.

The new Exchange Online Connector provides admins, users and data owners visibility into the unstructured data hosted on Exchange Online - through the same pane of glass used for the rest of the organization’s data assets.

The new connector allows organizations to use the same methodologies, controls and organizational processes they use to govern access to other cloud and on-prem data stores, leveraging the same review processes, notification systems, and user-experience business users are accustomed to.

Using Data Access Security allows admins to delegate the tasks of governing and reviewing access to business users and owners - and share the responsibility with the people most familiar with the data itself.

• Resource discovery of Accounts and Individual files, including mailboxes and public folders with the ability to control the discovery scope.
• Permissions Analysis - Acquire insights into individuals with access to data stored on Exchange Online, including mailbox and public folders .
  • Identify users granted direct access to Exchange Online .
  • Review Exchange Online folder access in a simplified hierarchical format.
  • Obtain visibility into access to Exchange Online data without requiring specific permissions or extensive meetings with Exchange Online administrators.
