Enhancement: Request Center Search Bar Expansion

Request Center will soon allow users to search for items by Source name. This is a big usability addition, as users often think about the system they need to access as a first filter.

The Details

This change will affect the Access Items page and its filtered sub-pages. A search by source name will return all entitlements and access profiles linked to the source. Like the name and description options that already exist, the source name search is a full text search, so specifying even part of a source name will return the corresponding results.

When multiple words are entered in the search bar without quotes, each term is applied to all searchable fields (name, description, source name), and any item matching all terms is returned. When quotes are place around the whole search string, the whole phrase must be found in one of those searchable fields.

Planned Release Dates

• Sandbox for all customers: June 24
• Production rollout: Week of July 1

We're already working on expansion to support search by application name within the Access Items page and its Access Profiles sub-page. Stay tuned for that update coming soon!

Update: The application name work got finished sooner than expected, so when the rollout is complete (this week), search by source name and app name will both be live!
