ARM: Agent Update FAQ

As Access Risk Management (ARM) continues to grow to meet our most demanding customer needs, we are making significant reliability and scalability upgrades to the ARM infrastructure. There will be no change to ARM functionality and no impact to SAP communications. Primarily, this will support dynamically controlling the ARM server the agent communicates with. These enhancements require all ARM customers to upgrade the ARM SAP Agent.

IMPORTANT: The ARM Agent update must be completed by March 31st, 2024. Systems not updated by that date will no longer be able to communicate with ARM and no SAP jobs will be processed.

The following is an FAQ to assist during this transition:

  • Why is SailPoint making this change?
    • This change introduces the ability for the agent to dynamically determine which ARM server to communicate with to leverage architectural enhancements.
  • What should you expect?
    • Customers can wait to be contacted by ARM Customer Support to set up a meeting to perform the agent upgrade. Don’t want to wait? Contact ARM Customer Support to schedule a time.
    • No changes are being made to functionality, communications with SAP, or SAP permissions required for the agent to function with this update.
    • Customers using older versions of the agent from 2022 or prior should plan on testing each job type (Security Extract, Utilization Extract, EAM Provisioning) to ensure a smooth transition.
  • How do I know what agent version I am running?
  • How long do you need to schedule for the upgrade?
    • The update will take an estimated 45-60 minutes per agent to complete the upgrade and recommending testing, with help from ARM Customer Support.
  • What do you need to do?
    • Contact ARM Customer Support to schedule a time for this update, or if Support has already reached out - respond as soon as possible.
  • When does this need to be completed by?
    • March 31st, 2024
  • What happens if you do not upgrade?
    • Systems not updated by March 31st, 2024 will no longer be able to communicate with ARM and no SAP jobs will be processed.
